    Mubasher: The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, chaired, today, Tuesday, the 42nd regular session of the Council of Ministers.

    The Cabinet discussed, according to a press release, the latest developments in the general situation of the country, in addition to discussing the topics on the agenda, and issued decisions and recommendations regarding them.
    The Council of Ministers agreed to amend Paragraph (1) of Cabinet Resolution (71 of 2016) regarding the controls for distributing housing and kiosks to the poor, to become as follows: 
    1- Economic housing:
    A- The government bears (100%) of the cost of the housing unit And give it to the beneficiary (poor families) free of charge.
    B - The write-off of the amount of thirty-five billion six hundred and sixty-two million dinars owed by families benefiting from the distribution of housing to the poor, based on the provisions of Article (46) of the amended Federal Financial Management Law (6 of 2019), and Cabinet Resolution (28 of 2020). ).
    The council discussed the progress of the implementation of the Basra tube water project, and the amendment of the first paragraph of Cabinet Resolution (187 for the year 2021), which is related to the project’s Al-Badaa channel.
    The Iraqi government approved the recommendation of the Ministerial Council for Energy No. (129 of 2021).
    The government agreed to allocate the Ministry of Finance three billion dinars to the Traffic Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, from the emergency reserve for the fiscal year 2021, based on the provisions of Article (5) of Law (23 of 2021), the Federal General Budget Law for the fiscal year 2021, to support the project. The National Council aims to provide services to citizens, and expedite the completion of their traffic transactions at vehicle registration complexes in Baghdad and the governorates.
    The Council approved that the Ministry of Finance allocate three billion dinars, from the emergency reserve for the fiscal year 2021, to the Ministry of Water Resources, the General Authority for the Operation of Irrigation and Drainage Projects, for the purpose of maintaining pumping stations and cleaning and disinfecting the intakes of stations to treat the decrease in water levels due to scarcity, based on the provisions of Article ( 5) of the General Federal Budget Law for the fiscal year 2021.
