    Today, Tuesday, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Jassim Al-Asadi, announced the launch of social assistance for more than 105,000 families within the eighth meal supplement, while he called on all eligible people to apply for the inclusion window before closing it on the 22nd of this month.

    In a statement, the minister said, "The ministry, through the Social Protection Authority, has started completing the eighth meal supplement to include families in social protection, based on the amounts allocated under the Emergency Support Law for Food Security and Development."

    He pointed out, "The subsidy was launched for (105,885) families that received the Key Card within the eighth meal supplement, and the rest is about 209 thousand families, which the social protection staff will work continuously to complete by the end of this year.

    He added, "The staff of the Social Protection Authority continues to work continuously to include the largest number of eligible families, and (343,954) families were counted within the eighth group, of which (310,791) are below the poverty line, and (33163) are above the poverty line. They can submit objections starting today. For women, the appeal will be opened for men on 1-12-2022.

    He pointed out that the (My Umbrella) electronic service was launched for the groups benefiting from social protection, noting that "all beneficiaries can know through this window the status of the subsidy (stop or continue), as well as update the ration card data and change the address also for the beneficiaries whose addresses have changed."

    He stated, "The ministry will work to raise the issue of launching the second half of the food security law's allocations before the Council of Ministers to include the largest number of people entitled to social protection, as well as for people with disabilities."

    And the minister indicated that "the electronic window opened by the Social Protection Authority to apply for inclusion reached more than two million and five hundred thousand," calling on all eligible families to "apply for the inclusion window before closing it on 11-22-2022."
