Today, Tuesday, the Directorate of Social Protection in the Holy Karbala confirmed that the number of families benefiting from the Social Protection Law in Karbala is currently 47,000.
The Director of the Social Protection Department in Karbala, Hussein Jassim Tayeh, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency, which was followed by the news agency, that "there is a lack of financial allocations for those covered by the social protection law, demanding" to increase the largest number of needy families to ensure a decent life for them and also to allocate smart cards to sixteen. A thousand families are still waiting for the aid money to be disbursed.
He added, "The department's work is based on Law 11 of 2014, which aims to achieve a decent life for members of society and contribute to strengthening the values of social solidarity, ensuring that the umbrella of social protection reaches all groups covered by its provisions, providing psychological and material stability for individuals and families, and ensuring an appropriate income for individuals."
He continued, "The categories covered by the Social Protection Law are the disabled, the disabled, widows, orphans, divorced women, and families who have no income."
He explained, "The monthly aid amount for a family headed by one man is 125 thousand, but if they are two, then 175 thousand, and if they are three, then 225,000, and if they are four or more, then 275,000 per month."
He pointed out, "Many of the beggars who are currently in possession of social protection benefits, pointing out that" the ministry targeted them and included them in Law 11 of 2014".
