    On Monday, Finance Minister Taif Sami chaired a meeting to follow up on the implementation of the project to reform the customs and tax systems, in the presence of the advanced staff of the customs and tax authorities, the financial advisor, the director general of the legal department, and the budget and accounting departments.
    During the meeting, the Minister of Finance indicated, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance, "the importance of proceeding with the implementation of the program prepared to develop the work of the customs and tax sectors, as it is one of the vital sectors that contribute to supporting the pillars of the national economy, along with the oil sector and other sectors."
    She pointed out, "The need to complete the automation project in the two agencies, which will contribute to the development and improvement of their performance through a package of mechanisms such as updating collection systems and applying the tax number, as well as providing a solid database that will in turn achieve effective management of the state's financial resources."
    She added, "The next stage requires redoubling efforts and providing the necessary capabilities to achieve the requirements for implementing the government program, in light of the Ministry of Finance's interest in supporting and implementing the Sustainable Development Goals Financing Strategy Program."
