, a member of the Iraqi Parliament, Vian Dakhil, confirmed that the Kurdish parliamentarians will insist on establishing a special fund for the reconstruction of Sinjar, whose people have been receiving promises since 2014 within the 2023 budget
. Promises were made about the reconstruction of Sinjar and the return of the displaced, but in reality nothing has been achieved on the ground."
And she added, "Soon, the Iraqi budget bill for the year 2023 will be sent to Parliament, and we, as parliamentarians, will insist, in response, on establishing a special fund for the reconstruction of Sinjar, defining a clear budget for it, and not dealing with the judiciary like other districts within the budget allocated to Nineveh Governorate."
Regarding the situation in Sinjar and the reasons why the displaced Yazidi Kurds did not return to their homes, she explained, "The security situation in Sinjar is unstable, saying that" the presence of the Popular Mobilization Forces on the one hand, and forces such as the PKK on the other hand, constitutes a factor of instability, a problem, and a threat to Sinjar.
