On Monday, the head of the Iraqi Pharmacists' Syndicate, Mustafa Al-Hiti, presented a solution regarding fixing drug prices, noting that the changing drug pricing is a problem for health insurance.
Al-Hiti told the official news agency, "The union was proceeding with the pricing project, but the movement of the dollar's rise led to stopping work with the pricing because it is a chain of something linked to something."
He added, "The time has come to agree on a fixed price for the exchange of dollars with regard to medicine," stressing that "this is the union's only solution."
He continued, "We will also face the same problem with health insurance if the drug pricing remains variable," stressing the need for "a constructive response based on the existing variables."
