The head of the Supreme Hajj and Umrah Commission, Sami Al-Masoudi, revealed today, Wednesday, that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed to open the Jamima crossing in Muthanna Governorate to facilitate the journeys of pilgrims and Umrah performers from the southern governorates and enhance commercial activity.
Al-Masoudi said: "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani paid attention to the Hajj file and was in constant contact regarding the electronic lottery that was conducted under his supervision."
He added, "The instructions were given to open the Jamima crossing in Muthanna Governorate in order to facilitate the arrival of the southern governorates to the holy lands," noting that "the crossing is important and vital commercially and economically and a passage for pilgrims and Umrah performers, like the Arar crossing."
He explained that "the government's support for the Hajj and Umrah Commission continues, as it has completed the legal procedures with the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding it, in addition to completing the infrastructure."
