[rtl]Two officials familiar with the operations of the Iraqi West Qurna 2 oil field said that Iraq intends to temporarily close the field for maintenance.
The officials added that the maintenance work, which is expected to start on February 20, would not affect crude exports, and that the field would resume operations on March 1. The field currently produces about 400 thousand barrels per day.
An official at the field said production from other fields would be increased to make up for the shortfall.[/rtl]
