    Today, Monday, President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid discussed, during his meeting with the Director-General of UNESCO in Iraq, Paolo Fontani, the development of the education, culture and science sector.


    The media office of the Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement received by Alsumaria News, “The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received, at the Baghdad Palace, the director representing UNESCO in Iraq, Paolo Fontani.”

    During the meeting, the President of the Republic stressed "the importance of strengthening means of cooperation to develop the sectors of education, culture and science, and to preserve heritage and cultural diversity." Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities," according to the statement.





    Rashid referred to the role of UNESCO in providing support to the educational sector, pointing to the solid scientific status of Iraqi universities and giving them full of science and knowledge

    . The solid and continuous cooperation between the two sides, especially given Iraq's deep cultural heritage.

    He stressed that "the organization is currently carrying out several projects in Basra, the Citadel of Erbil, and Mosul, in which it relies on Iraqi cadres and competencies," noting that "the organization has held several courses and workshops in many Iraqi universities to develop students' capabilities."
