The first deputy chairman of the committee, Ahmed Mazhar al-Jubouri, said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, “After more than four months have passed since the formation of the government, we call on the government to expedite and work seriously to send the budget law for the year 2023 within a short period so that the Finance Committee can legislate it in the House of Representatives, especially since the time is inside the committee and the council, it is short to discuss the draft law.
He continued, "We hope that the time will not be longer at the expense of the poor and the Iraqi people, since the country is in dire need of enacting the law."
And the vice-chairman of the committee indicated, "The law touches the poor classes, segments of retirees, contracts and daily wages, as it is expected that the budget will be sent, so that the Finance Committee can discuss it and submit it to the House of Representatives for a vote on it."
Al-Jubouri went on to say: "We, as a financial committee, are committed to sending an official letter to demand that the budget be sent after a long time has passed for it to be included in the government, and it must abide by its legal and constitutional responsibility."

The Parliamentary Finance Committee called today, Monday, on the government to expedite sending the general federal budget law for the year 2023 after forming the government and electing the heads of parliamentary committees.
