The Presidency of the Supreme Judicial Council received a parliamentary request to specify the criteria and mechanisms through which offensive and degrading content is identified and classified.
According to a letter addressed by Representative Fatima Al-Issawi to the Supreme Judicial Council, which was seen by "Baghdad Today", Al-Issawi stressed the need to set standards in order to distinguish offensive content from others, and to avoid and use it by citizens, as well as to avoid arbitrariness in news or accountability.
Social networking sites witnessed demands to determine the criteria on the basis of which offensive content is classified or not, so that it does not lead to the suppression of freedoms and the arrest of citizens according to the news submitted by other citizens.
