Al-Sudani directs urgent measures to provide food items during the month of Ramadan

{Local: Al Furat News} Prime Minister Muhammad Shayaa Al-Sudani chaired, on Sunday morning, a meeting devoted to discussing the automation of the ration card, in the presence of the Minister of Commerce, the Director General of the General Company for Foodstuff Trade and the head of the advisory board in the Prime Minister's Office.
A statement from the Prime Minister's Office, a copy of which {Euphrates News} received, stated that "during the meeting, the automation program was presented, which includes the approval of an electronic card for each head of a covered family, and its adoption in distributing the ration card items."
Al-Sudani directed, "The Ministry of Commerce to complete the program as soon as possible, in order to stop the waste of public money, and to adopt Karbala Governorate as an experimental environment for implementing the program."
The meeting reviewed, according to the statement, "the Prime Minister's directive to take urgent measures to provide the ration card items during the blessed month of Ramadan to all citizens and poor groups covered by the Social Protection Authority, and appropriate decisions were taken in this regard."
