[size=45]Professor “Ihsan Shamran,” Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, met today, Sunday morning (26/2/2023), a delegation of the Tourism Authority in the Kurdistan Region, headed by Mrs. “Amal Jalal,” the head of the authority, and in the presence of Professor “Bakhtiyar Haji,” Director General of Relations and Follow-up Affairs at the representative office of the regional government. During the meeting, they discussed the tourism sector in the Kurdistan Region and future projects to develop tourism facilities to attract Iraqi and foreign tourists, as well as the need to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the Federal Tourism Authority and the Kurdistan Region.
In another aspect of the meeting, the delegation of the Tourism Authority in the Kurdistan Region demanded the support of the Central Bank of Iraq for tourism projects in the Kurdistan Region, especially the granting of loans for small, medium and large tourism projects, as well as the development of tourism infrastructure to advance the tourism reality.
For his part, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank appreciated the efforts of the Tourism Authority in the Kurdistan Region in providing public services to tourists, declaring the bank's readiness to support this vital sector, which is one of the important economic sectors.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to link the Central Bank of Iraq to the electronic platform of the representative of the regional government in Baghdad for the purpose of expediting the completion of transactions and correspondence.[/size]
