Today, Wednesday, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi confirmed that Iraq is moving towards handing over the instruments of accession to the two international social security agreements.
The ministry's media office said, in a statement received by (Baghdad Today), that "Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi is participating at the head of an official delegation in the meetings of the International Labor Organization's Board of Directors in the Swiss capital, Geneva."
He added, "Al-Asadi is scheduled to deliver Iraq's speech on this occasion at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, and to hand over the instruments of Iraq's accession to the two conventions ratified by Iraq in the field of social security: the first is Convention 102 on minimum standards for social security, and the second is in the field of occupational health and safety for seafaring workers." ".
He continued, "The meetings will include meetings on the sidelines of the conference, including the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as the President of the International Trade Center," noting that "the Minister of Labor will hold a meeting with the President of the International Labor Organization, in preparation for an upcoming visit of experts from the International Organization to Iraq."
