The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, received at his residence in Baghdad on Thursday 6/4/2023 the Minister of Health in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Dr. Saman Hussein Barzanji, with a delegation from the Ministry that included the Undersecretaries and Directors General of Health: (Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Dohuk The meeting was also attended by Dr. Vian Sabri, head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc in the House of Representatives, Dr. Majid Shankali, head of the Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee, the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, Mr. Safwan Bashir, and Mr. Fares Issa, head of the Kurdistan Region's representative in Baghdad, and during the meeting, a number of files and issues of common concern were discussed and discussed, including the federal budget law for the years 2023-2024-2025 and financial allocations for the rehabilitation and development of the health sector throughout the country.
The Vice President welcomed the visit of the guest delegation and pointed out in the context of the conversation to the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination mechanisms between the Ministry of Health in the region and the Ministry of Health in the federal government, and the need to continue visits and meetings between the two sides in order to reach common goals to provide primary health services to all citizens in all governorates of Iraq.[/size]
