On Thursday, MP Ahmed Rahim attacked Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, against the background of the moves being made by the US ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski.
Rahim said to (Baghdad Today), "We reject the moves of the US ambassador in Baghdad and her clear interference in internal affairs through declared statements on issues related to security, the budget and the social situation in the country, in addition to her frequent meetings with ministers and officials in a way that deviates greatly from her diplomatic track."
He added, "Unfortunately, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not give the ambassador the limits of her diplomatic work, and the minister could not move a finger," stressing the need to "state the position of the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the violation of sovereignty, which at the same time is a transgression of the norms set by the law."
The deputy called on the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to "state the position on the movements of the American ambassador in Baghdad by stating her path approved by the law."
The meeting of the US ambassador to Baghdad, Alina L. Romanowski, with the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, recently aroused resentment among the coordination framework forces, especially after they discussed the elections and budget laws. They considered this a “blatant interference” in internal affairs, and “a violation of sovereignty and the institution.” Legislative".
