    The advisor to the current President of the Republic and former Minister of Planning, Nuri Sabah al-Dulaimi, presented, on Monday, five proposals to activate trade exchange between the Iraqi provinces, saying in a press article that this would enhance the national identity in Iraq.
    Full text of the article:
    With the technological development and the distances that this accelerating world is still shortening around the world.. trade exchange remains the distinguishing mark, which makes sectors of all orientations adopt it as a gateway to reach the other with an interest or need that he lacks.
    Despite the importance of trade exchange as a guarantee of sustainable relations, as is the case in the European Union, its role in strengthening national identity is an aspect that has not received the required attention in Iraq, by achieving mutual benefit among the people of the same country, especially if the most prominent resources for each country are identified. Governorate, supporting and developing it, which in turn will contribute to supporting stability and the best investment of national energies and wealth.
    The state undertakes several duties, the most important of which is supporting the national product and strengthening social ties, especially in countries that have suffered from conflicts, wars and divisions. In this context, trade exchange between Iraqi provinces is one of the most important sustainable means to enhance and sustain this.
    Accordingly, the Iraqi government must set its sights on creating the appropriate environment to facilitate and stimulate trade exchange between the provinces. When the commercial interests of the people of the center and the south intertwine with the people of the West and the people of the provinces of the region with the people of the center and the south, the natural result is that the benefit will spread to everyone and the divisions that did not exist in the Iraqi society will fade away, especially since the citizen ultimately does not care about slogans and does not care about him. Partisan, political, or sectarian polarization, unless it can be translated into benefits that will reflect on his life and the lives of his children on the ground.
    In order to achieve effective trade exchange between the Iraqi provinces, and even to reach a state that is as close as possible to economic integration, especially in a highly diversified country like Iraq, the government can consider applying the following steps:
     First: Determining the spatial advantage of each governorate and allocating and directing investors to work, according to this criterion, which will help produce abundant production at competitive prices that exceed the governorate’s needs. Thus, the investor will need to market it to the rest of the governorates, which will create a direct and balanced relationship between the people of the governorates.
    Second: Encouraging the spirit of participation and cooperation among the Iraqi governorates, by launching initiatives and awareness campaigns to stimulate participation and cooperation in commercial operations.
    Third: Improving the infrastructure and logistical networks in Iraq, through modernizing roads and bridges and developing ports, airports, railways and communications networks, and this will help facilitate the process of trade exchange between the provinces.
    Fourth: Providing the necessary financial and financing resources for companies and individuals who wish to invest in commercial exchanges between the governorates.
    Fifth: Approving policies and laws that support commercial exchange operations between the governorates, in order to encourage more companies and individuals to participate.
    Trade exchange and the existence of common interests between the Iraqi provinces represents a great opportunity to enhance solidarity and social solidarity and to enhance belonging to one homeland, which will lead to real solutions for the national economy, greater activation of the private sector, achieving economic stability, increasing sources of income and reducing unemployment rates.
