[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The Parliamentary Finance Committee, chaired by Representative Atwan Al-Atwani, hosted today, Minister of Defense Thabet Al-Abbasi and the accompanying delegation, to discuss and audit the operational and investment defense budget within the Federal General Budget Law and the Allocations allocated to it to deal with the files of armaments, their contracts terminated, examiners, awakeners, in addition to financial allocations The Ministry within the law of emergency support for food security and development.
Al-Atwani welcomed, according to the statement of the parliamentary department, the head of the committee, the Minister of Defense, indicating that the hosting comes to review the ministry's budget related to employee compensation, commodity and service requirements, and financial allocations for a a number of files related to infrastructure, armaments, and others, and to follow up the investment budget and the tables included within the ministry's budget in the law The federal budget for the fiscal years 2023-2024-2025, and finding real solutions for this important ministry in the security of the country.
For his part, the Minister of Defense reviewed the general situation in the ministry and its policy in facing challenges, pointing to the need to support the infrastructure. The Wounded Authority, which deals with the treatment of the wounded belonging to the Ministry.
The committee discussed finding appropriate solutions for the files of the examiners and their inclusion in appointment, their contracts terminated, and the Awakenings affiliated with the Ministry of Defense, who number approximately (5,600) contracts, to include them within the Ministry's plan and include financial Allocations for them, in addition to the importance of supporting the army with new blood, treating and caring for the wounded army, and allocating funds to finance them.
The committee also affirmed that it is supportive of the ministry in enhancing security and stability and contributing to preserving the country's sovereignty, as it is one of the major security institutions.
The committee reviewed the legal provisions contained in the law represented in financing the ministry's needs and covering the ministry's requirements through borrowing, as the ministry's current amount budgeted to (80%) of the total budget, while the investment budget allocations amounted to (20%) ) of the total financial allocations for the ministry. ./finished7[/rtl]
