    Baghdad today - Baghdad
The Ministry of Electricity announced an improvement in the supply of electric power in the country, a day after the signing of the fuel barter agreement between Iraq and Iran.
Ministry spokesman Ahmed Moussa said in a televised statement: "The production of the electrical system began to rise after the return of the supplied gas flow, and the system records an increase in its loads."
He pointed out, "The escalation of loads came as a result of the government's step in the agreement to swap black oil for the supplied gas, with the high interest of the Prime Minister and under the supervision of the Minister of Electricity."
Moussa confirmed, "Electricity has improved after the agreement with Iran to exchange oil with gas."
Yesterday, Tuesday, Iraq and Iran signed an agreement under which imported Iranian gas, which operates electric power plants, will be exchanged for Iraqi crude oil and black oil.
The media office of the Prime Minister said, "This agreement is within the framework of the government's effort to address the crisis of supplying gas that powers power stations, and avoid financing problems and the complications of US sanctions that prevented the continuity of payment of import requirements. ".
Commenting on the agreement, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani said, "The import of Iranian gas has been resumed, and 10 million cubic meters have been released, and it is hoped that it will increase until the contracted quantity, which enables the Ministry of Electricity to operate all electrical stations, is completed."
