    [rtl]Baghdad-Iraq today:

Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region, and the Iranian province of Urmia, concluded a 20-point agreement to develop bilateral relations.

The governor of Erbil, Omid Khoshnaw, said, in a press conference held in the Haj Omran border area with Iran, that "the meetings held between the two sides included three axes, including the continuation of last year's experience regarding receiving visitors to the holy shrines, which was for the first time through the Haj Omran border crossing, and it was agreed to develop this experience during the current year."

In this regard, Khoshnaw expected, according to the procedures and preparations, that the number of visitors through the Haj Omran crossing, this year, will rise to about 500,000 people, after their number was 70,000 last year.

Khoshnaw pointed out that "the third axis of the meetings included a quick review of previous agreements between the two sides, as the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding in January of 2021, and in February of last year it turned into an official agreement concluded in Erbil, and the agreement concluded today consists of 20 points that develop from previous agreements."

He explained that "the previous agreements contributed to increasing the rate of trade exchange between the two sides by 25%, and part of the agreement that was concluded includes the development of tourism relations between Iran and the Kurdistan region, and the provision of facilities by the endowment departments for visits and cultural and academic relations."[/rtl]
