The Federal Integrity Commission announced the organization of "red notices" against the wanted suspects in the "theft of the century", including the former finance minister and former intelligence director in the government of Mustafa Al-Kazemi, in addition to other suspects.
The head of the commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, said during a press conference attended by "Al-Sabah": "The red notices included both the director of the Prime Minister's office and the head of the intelligence service in the previous government and his private secretary, who both hold American citizenship, and the finance minister in the previous government, who is considered one of the main suspects." In the case, he holds British citizenship.
He added, "The countries that demand us to take measures to combat corruption, return the people's money and the wanted, and punish them according to the law, must implement this by handing over the fugitives and our stolen money deposited with them, especially those who hold their nationalities and take refuge in them from our judicial procedures related to the authority and the Directorate of Arab and International Police in the Ministry of Interior." , citing the example of the political advisor to the former prime minister who resides in the UAE and has not yet been proven to have a foreign nationality.
He noted that "the lowest convict of those wanted has acquired 100 billion dinars, in addition to those convicted of stealing 400 billion dinars and another 200 billion dinars," describing this theft as "corruption tainted by treason," as it not only led to the theft of money, but to " Exhausting the state and weakening the citizen’s trust in it.” Hanoun said: “Officials from all institutions, such as the Prime Minister’s Office, the Intelligence and Tax Service, and the Rafidain Bank, participated in this theft, one of whom is from Integrity, and 3 from the Money Laundering Office and the private sector with private banks and suspects of other nationalities,” stressing that "The competent authorities have so far reached about 48 accused, in addition to the fact that one of the accused previously headed the Finance Committee, and this does not indicate the existence of a crime of corruption only, but rather the exhaustion of the state and the elimination of its institutions."
The head of the Integrity Commission confirmed, "The theft of tax secretariats will not die, and we say to the perpetrators (do not bet on time). The passage of days will not make us forget the crime and it will remain in the daily memory of the people, and that their stay outside bars enjoying the stolen Iraqi money will not last long, and we will take all means to be able to implement orders." arrest issued against you, and we secure your appearance before a just court, and we recover the stolen money.”And he continued, "The countries whose nationalities are wanted for this crime and those fleeing to it and those who are sheltered in it must enable the Commission and the Directorate of Arab and International Police in the Interior to reach them and cooperate in the field of recovering them and the money they stole in accordance with the law in order to secure their appearance before the Iraqi judiciary to complete the investigative and judicial procedures against them." Especially the relevant authorities in the United States of America and the United Kingdom to cooperate in the implementation of arrest warrants issued against them in accordance with the provisions of Article 316 of the Iraqi Penal Code No. 111 of 1969 as amended.
Hanoun expressed his hope that "countries will cooperate in handing over the accused, just as they promised us cooperation in the field of training and strengthening, expertise and capabilities, and that they prove their support for Iraq in the field of combating corruption, preventing its spread, and recovering the wanted persons and the stolen money, by word and deed."
He added, "Reaching the final stage of the complementary process, is the recovery of the accused who fled outside Iraq and the recovery of smuggled funds abroad, which are many, in continuation of our efforts to recover the wanted convicts, who are (Hamdiya Al-Jaf, Nawras Abdel-Razzaq and Muhammad Hadi) from the UAE, and procedures have reached The stages of handing them over to Iraq are relatively advanced.
He explained that "the authority has a case of inflation of one billion and 76 million dinars, of which the first part amounting to 800 million dinars was handed over, and he is one of the suspects whose money was inflated as a result of illegal gain," noting that "the accused in this case is the former head of the National Retirement Authority."
