A member of the Parliamentary Investment and Development Committee, Hussein Al-Sabri, called on the government to send a government contracting law that could control the pace of contracting from waste and corruption.
Al-Sabri told Al-Sabah: "The government should send a new law governing government contracts, due to the fragility of legislation that has caused corruption and waste of public money."
He added, "If there was a solid law that did not contain legal loopholes, these laws would not be exploited, and such contracts prove corruption and waste of public and private money." And pressure towards preserving private and public money.
He pointed out that "administrative laws that include deterrent clauses and control contracts are a safety valve to preserve public money from waste and corruption, so we call on the government to prepare contractual laws that do not have loopholes through which public money can be exploited.
