    Shafaq News/ The Director of the Office of Arab and African Affairs in the Iranian Trade Development Organization, Farzad Beltin, stated on Tuesday that his country has exported goods and merchandise to Iraq, with a financial value of about $3 billion, during the first four months of the current Iranian year.
    This came in an interview conducted by this official with the Iranian semi-official "Mehr" agency, about the trade situation between Iran and Iraq.



    Farzad Bilten said during the interview that "Iran's exports to Iraq during the first four months of the current Iranian year amounted to about 2 billion 927 million dollars, which represents an increase of 541 million dollars compared to the same period last year and shows a growth of about 23%."
    And he added, "During the aforementioned period, Iran's imports from Iraq amounted to about $66 million, a decrease of 16% compared to the same period last year."
    According to Belten, "the volume of trade exchange between Iran and Iraq during the four months of this year amounted to about two billion and 993 million dollars."
    The Iranian official expected that "Iran's exports to Iraq will reach $10.5 billion by the end of this year."
    Bilten touched on the goods that were exported to Iraq and said, "During this period, natural gas was exported about $620 million, iron and steel about $350 million, cement about $50 million, tomatoes about $70 million, and eggs worth $60 million." and ore worth 30 million dollars to Iraq.
    Regarding the export of agricultural products, the Iranian official stated that "the share of agricultural products in the goods that were exported from Iran to Iraq during 4 months of this year amounted to about $350 million, or about 10% of the country's total exports to the aforementioned market."
    The official touched on increasing the volume of trade with Iraq, and said, "The most important solution is trade based on written and official contracts, as well as detailed and accurate information on Iraqi trade laws and regulations, especially with regard to embargoes and import restrictions for this country."
    He continued by saying that "exchanging currencies through official methods, ensuring the credibility of commercial parties, and finally starting joint production in Iraq is another requirement for the growth of trade with Iraq."
