    Information/Baghdad...
Turkey continues to use the water card as a pressure factor on Iraq to achieve gains that Ankara wants to obtain from Baghdad, especially with regard to the fines imposed on it by the Paris Court regarding oil exports, as a result of which oil exports to the port of Ceyhan were stopped.

There are continuing political confirmations of the possibility of overcoming the crisis by resorting to a set of options that guarantee Iraq’s rights and its water share from the northern neighbour, especially after it transformed the file from a technical one to a political one, which leaves the country facing options that it may have to resort to, the most prominent of which is the economic card and trade exchange with the Turkish side, as well as Asylum to the international community.
A member of the Parliamentary Agriculture and Water Committee, Thaer al-Jubouri, told Al-Maalouma, “Turkey continues to use pressure on Iraq in more than one issue, including water and oil, to achieve other goals, one of which is paying the fines imposed on it by the Paris court.”

Al-Jubouri added, “The amounts imposed by the Paris Court on Turkey are large amounts, and therefore Ankara is pushing to put pressure on Baghdad in order to achieve its gains and ensure that it is charged these amounts instead of paying them through the Turkish government.” He pointed out that “the water file is one of the most prominent files and concerns.
” The concern is for the Iraqi people, and in the end, resolving such a file depends on the Iraqi negotiator for the Turkish side, apart from the technical aspects, especially since Ankara seeks to exploit such files to achieve what it wants from Iraq.” On the other hand, the representative of the State of Law coalition, Faisal Al-Naeli, stated to “Al-Malouma”
: "The central and southern regions are almost turning into desert land due to Turkey's policy and its use of the water issue against Iraq."

He added, "The government has many cards that can be used against Turkey, including the economic file, especially since Ankara did not implement its aforementioned promises and Baghdad did not receive its sufficient water share."
On the other hand, former MP Furat Al-Tamimi confirmed to Al-Ma’louma that “the drought crisis in Iraq is not temporary and is the beginning of a critical phase that will be more severe in the coming years, especially with the decline of water in the rivers coming from neighboring countries at rates ranging from 60-80%.” .
He pointed out that "Iraq has three options to contain the first drought crisis, pressure towards concluding agreements that secure fair water shares based on the principle of sharing damage in dry seasons, in addition to making radical changes in irrigation patterns, reducing waste rates, and desalinating seawater and artesian wells." Ended 25 n
