    Baghdad today - Diyala
In recent years, Diyala has witnessed a huge influx of money from Baghdad within budgets under various headings to finance service projects in a governorate with a population of more than 1,800,000 people, the bulk of whom live in a difficult, complex and often miserable service situation.
The mayor of Baquba District, Abdullah Al-Hayali, confirmed in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that there are no fake projects, but we have projects that are not economically feasible and are approved and completed without taking the opinion of the local administration of the judiciary. Indeed, some of our important projects are not being funded, and the opposite is happening with other projects. ".
He added, "A significant portion of the projects are supervised by the same engineers, repeatedly, which raises many question marks, while the rest of the engineers are not given the same experience, even though they are equally competent."
“It is not from the parties’ pocket.”
Salem Ghanem, an independent politician, said, “The election fever has led to the politicization of a significant portion of Diyala’s projects, which are government-funded and not from the pocket of a party or political bloc, and dozens of pages by politicians and candidates promote the opposite of the truth.”
He added in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “projects worth billions of dinars can be approved and implemented and all mechanisms can be bypassed with the stroke of a red pen,” pointing out that “the services file and the development of a project distribution map cannot be done according to the “Fazaa” principle, but rather according to a road map that is essentially based on Feasibility and importance.
Activist Thamer Hassan admitted that “the services file has been politicized, especially with the December 19 deadline approaching, and this file has lost the status of services in exchange for votes. This is a fact that no one disputes, and those with ambitious programs and electoral narratives are ‘poor’ in front of their peers who have the red pens whose signature is sufficient to solve the problem of thousands.” In less than a second due to the influence of some people.”
    Crossfire
He pointed out in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “suspicions of corruption exist, and integrity announces some secrets from time to time, but the word of the influential powers remains the loudest, and the voices that oppose or call for exposing corruption will be in the crosshairs, so many have remained silent in the hope that it will lead to disagreements between the powers.” "The one who has the power to push forward changes that will be a glimmer of hope for the post-December 19 period."
