Today, Friday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee identified the obstacles to the law amending the salary scale, and while it indicated the expected benefits if it is passed, it confirmed that the law’s decision has become a state of “necessity.”
Committee member Mudar Al-Karawi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The post-2003 accumulations created large gaps in the salaries of employees of Iraqi state institutions, far from experience, competence, and years of service, which contributed to creating severe harm to many.”
He added, "Approving a fair salary scale for employees of state institutions has become a very necessary situation while reducing financial differences and adopting the main frameworks for determining salaries," stressing that "approving the scale faces several obstacles, most notably the financial cover that must be provided, in addition to the importance of the mechanisms being flexible and not creating... "No problems."
He pointed out that "approving a fair salary scale will bring three benefits to state institutions, the most prominent of which is the absence of discrimination between one department and another except through efficiency and the size of the giving."
State institutions suffer from large discrepancies in the salaries of their employees despite the similarity in certificates and years of service.
