    Today, Thursday (November 16, 2023), Representative Mortada Al-Saadi identified the most prominent amendments expected in the Election Commission Law.
    Al-Saadi told "Baghdad Today", "The most prominent amendments that the House of Representatives must add to the Election Commission law in order to complete the due date of next December 18 is the extension of its work for 6 months."
    He added, "The matter will take place through the consensus of all political forces, and then it will be presented for discussion before voting on it."
    In its session yesterday, Wednesday, the House of Representatives completed the first reading of the proposed law amending the Independent High Electoral Commission Law No. (31) of 2019, to maintain the continuation of the work of the Board of Commissioners until the results of the irregular provincial council elections in the region are approved and the results of the elections for the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Addressing the legal situations of current members as their term expires.
