(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) A member of the Monitoring Committee for the implementation of the government program and strategic planning parliamentary, said that the legislative procedures for the law to address the abuse of housing will be completed after the holiday of Eid al-Fitr.
"The law was submitted by the Council of Ministers and it is one of the draft laws which is a priority for the ministerial program which was approved in February," committee member Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani said in a statement received by the Euphrates News Agency.
He pointed out that "the House of Representatives has introduced the law for the first reading and there have been some observations and interventions on the subject that it comes in the presence of more than one bill on the same subject."
"The law comes within the framework of a series of laws and legislation required by the National Housing Policy, which was approved in 2010 and was updated in 2016, in order to address the abuses of housing on state owned land or municipalities."
He pointed out that "this law aims to correct the legal status of the transgressors by renting the land they built a residential role, the land should be within the residential areas according to the basic designs and detailed cities, and that the building according to the plans referred to in terms of urban planning And the required designs, as well as the imposition of a sum of money to be determined by a decision issued by the Council of Ministers to anyone who exceeded the properties of the state and its departments and municipalities within Dodd basic designs for cities without obtaining the approval of fundamentalism. "
Al-Sudani said that "the law requires that the tenant be the actual occupant of the property and that he or his wife or minor children do not own a dwelling house or residential plot or have previously obtained a plot of land or housing units from the state or cooperative societies. Of the Sale and Rent of State Property Law No. 21 of 2013, provided that the proceeds obtained in accordance with the provisions of the law shall be transferred to the General Treasury to be allocated for the purposes of infrastructure development and improvement of constructed facilities and services in slums.
