Shafaq News/ The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, confirmed on Sunday that he held “good” meetings with officials and political leaders during his visit to the federal capital, Baghdad, expressing his hope for a soon solution to the region’s problems.
Nechirvan Barzani said in an interview with a number of journalists in Baghdad, "We participated in the Iraqi Martyr's Day and it was an opportunity to hold meetings with the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister and his deputies."
He added, "I think that the meetings were good, and in this context, steps are being taken to resolve the problems that exist between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government."
He continued, saying, "In this regard, we spoke today with the President of the Republic, and I informed him of the results of the meetings we held with these parties," adding, "We hope that the issues, especially the budget, will be resolved soon."
The President of the Kurdistan Region stressed that "what is important is to solve the problems, whether by amending the law or in another way."
