[rtl]Basra / NINA / The Iraq Ports Company announced the outcome of ship docking and container handling work and the volume of goods in the northern port of Umm Qasr for the year 2023, confirming that the port’s production for the past year is higher than previous years.
The Director General of the Iraq Ports Company, Farhan Al-Fartusi, said in a statement: “The outcome of the northern port of Umm Qasr for the year 2023 is the highest level of production, as the number of ships that docked at its berths reached about 1,128 ships, which resulted in a high rate of handling of imported and exported containers (TEU), about 1,486.” 180 containers, of which 444,412 containers were imported, while 408,492 containers were exported, and the total volume of unloaded loads amounted to about 12,434,745 tons of goods.”
He added: “The production outcome for the year 2023 is higher than the production of previous years at all levels, as the rate of ships anchored in the port for the year 2022 reached about 925 ships, and the rate of handling imported and exported containers (TEU) is about 1,110,767 containers.”/ End[/rtl]
