The Parliamentary Education Committee seeks to improve the quality of the food basket allocated for school feeding, confirming that the amounts allocated for the program stages that will be implemented over the current academic year 2023-2024 are secured. Committee member Zaytoun Al-Dulaimi told “Al-Sabah”: The committee seeks to improve the quality of the food basket for the school feeding program. Which was launched at the end of the year 2023 and included poor areas, confirming that the amounts allocated to the program will be secured over the current academic year 2023-2024, and it is hoped that its stages will be completed after the mid-year exams, to end with the end of the current academic year. She pointed out that the school feeding program is one of the most important projects that will enhance students’ continuation of their education in schools, so the committee seeks, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and the concerned authorities, to improve the quality of the project’s food basket components, to motivate students and encourage them to continue studying and not leave schools, noting that the program School feeding will improve the health and academic status of students in areas that suffer from a low standard of living. The school feeding program is one of the important educational projects that was launched recently to support students in the primary stage and complements the projects of opening new schools throughout the country and revitalizing the implementation of stalled educational projects, in addition to the student scholarship project, which the Ministry of Education considers one of the most prominent achievements achieved during the past year.
