    [size=45]The Ministry of Commerce announced that it will provide 11 food items as part of the ration card items for the holy month of Ramadan basket.[/size]
    [size=45]Ministry spokesman, Muhammad Hanoun, said: “The Ministry has made a great effort for more than a year to secure the food basket for citizens, and the items for the month of Ramadan are different from previous ones, and there is storage that extends for 7 months, and we are ready to prepare four additional materials, which are (starch, pasta, vermicelli, and zero flour).”[/size]
    [size=45]He added, “The Ramadan basket for the ration card includes 11 items, which will be 11 items and 14 food items for the social care basket,” adding, “For the first time, the ministry is entering the parallel market field to prevent the rise in prices.”[/size]
    [size=45]Hanoun continued, “The Ministry will work to distribute the ration card items at the beginning of the month of Ramadan, including the four added items.” Regarding meat prices, Hanoun explained, “Trade plays its role in monitoring meat prices in cooperation with the National Security Service to prevent raising prices and monitor violations legally, and the state is capable of taking measures,” noting “the opening of a large subsidized food center on the Karkh side during the month of Ramadan.” He added, “The Ministry of Commerce has a food program to control meat prices in Iraqi markets. We have also entered into the issue of the construction basket within the marketing plan at subsidized prices, and it will be prepared and opened in the coming days.” Hanoun pointed out, “The private sector contributed to providing 3-month storage and is capable of implementing other projects, including construction and the food basket,” adding, “The central markets determined their investment by a decision of the Council of Ministers in 2016, and now we have begun to exploit these centers as outlets for selling subsidized food.” Hanoun concluded by saying, “We are heading to support the local market and the private sector.”[/size]
