Revealing three goals for controlling the Iraqi borders, and the authorities confirm: No exception for any area

Yesterday, Sunday, the spokesman for joint operations, Major General Tahseen Al-Khafaji, revealed three goals behind the strategy of controlling the Iraqi borders.
Al-Khafaji said, “The joint operations and the Ministry of Interior, through the border guard formations, have a comprehensive strategy in implementing, controlling and closing the borders according to paths that guarantee an effective security grip and capabilities capable of achieving the goals, and it enjoys direct support from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.”
He added, “There are three main goals behind the strategy of controlling the borders, which are not limited to Turkey, but to all neighboring countries without exception, by protecting the national economy by preventing smuggling and blocking the way for anyone to infiltrate outside the legal framework, in addition to having security goals.”
Al-Khafaji pointed out, “There is no exception in implementing the strategy of controlling and closing the borders and deploying the guard, which is supported by high capabilities through the deployment of ambushes, stations, and usurers, leading to the use of modern frameworks for monitoring and follow-up.”
On Friday (February 23, 2024), the Iraqi Border Forces Command announced that it would be stationed at points on the Iraqi-Turkish border strip in the Amadiya district of Dohuk Governorate, near the Turkish border in northern Iraq. The Border Forces Command said in a statement that “under the guidance of the Minister of Interior and the follow-up of the Commander of the Border Forces.” To touch the entire Iraqi border with neighboring countries, and in the far north of our Iraq, with the harshest weather conditions and the most difficult terrain, a force from the 1st Border Brigade, under the command of the 1st District Border Commander, was able to advance towards the zero border point, take border points, and raise the Iraqi flag over them on the Iraqi-Turkish border strip in the area. Shields in the Amadiya district, north of Dohuk Governorate, were not previously held with support from the Kurdistan Regional Guard forces.”
The statement stated, “The new military stations will be equipped with modern technologies to effectively control the borders and confront outlaws.”
This new deployment came after Turkey intensified its military operations and bombing on various areas in northern Iraq. Meanwhile, the Kurdistan Workers' Party warned civilians and Kurdish forces (Peshmerga) against approaching Turkish positions in northern Iraq, because that would expose them to bombardment and it would be considered a war zone and a legitimate target for their forces.
