His Excellency the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abbas Jabr Al-Maliki, sent a message of reassurance to the Iraqi people regarding the Kuwaiti ship loaded with nineteen thousand heads of livestock coming from Brazil to Iraq.
It was stated in the Minister’s message:
We reassure the Iraqi people that the ship Kuwait, loaded with nineteen thousand heads of livestock coming from Brazil to Iraq, is empty.
Our veterinary medical staff have completed all field medical examination procedures and it has been proven that all animals are free of any epidemic diseases, in addition to completing all procedures for their entry into Iraqi ports towards their unloading and then their entry into Iraqi territory.
We once again reassure all citizens to take all measures to preserve their security and safety, and to provide all plant and animal crops in Iraqi markets at acceptable prices, in a way that prevents a scarcity of any food or agricultural commodity, taking into consideration preserving the interests of local producers.
