BAGHDAD - Mawazine News The
Iraqi movement groups are active these days in promoting a new round of protests against the authority and its parties after completing the problem of the Corona virus and limiting its spread. In the context of this endeavor, activists launched a hashtag, promising to revert the revolution, and established electronic groups through social media, especially Facebook, promising the return of the revolution in the near future.
The Waad group, which returns the electronic revolution, in less than a week, won the admiration and support of more than 32 thousand activists, along with other groups, such as support the revolution, going back to the square, a descendant taking my right, and I also received varying levels of follow-up and admiration.
The Corona variable, which forced many to flee to their homes and leave the protest grounds, caused a severe shock among activists who put all their hopes for the possibility of radical political transformations in the country that the "October Revolution" could have achieved. According to a report published by the newspaper "
It seems that, in order to face this shock, the movement groups have, for days, been working to "renew their hopes" by promoting the return of protests in the next stage, by publishing photos and videos of the events and victims of the protests that started last October and lasted for about 5 Months, and some of its manifestations are still visible in the different arenas, as the tents of the protesters in Tahrir Square in Baghdad and the rest of the arenas are still standing, and there are few numbers of protesters, in a clear indication of the protesters' adherence to their demands, and their insistence to remain, in the hope of completing the virus stage Lethal, returning to the atmosphere of protest Gat again.
Activists, during the campaign to promote the upcoming supposed protests, talk about new methods and mechanisms for the protest action, which go beyond past mistakes that occurred, including the lack of a unified leadership, transcending the differences between the movement groups, and not allowing their exploitation by some parties and parties for narrow political goals.
Activist Mohamed Salman does not exclude that "the upcoming protests are aimed at displacing the regime and not negotiating with its representatives in any way."
"It has become clear to the movement groups that whenever they engage in dialogue with the authorities, she insists on tampering with the demands of the demonstrators; see what they did with the post of prime minister once the protests receded, and how they lost 5 months in the story of the candidates for the position, in an effort to delay and not go To early elections, as the protest movement demands. "
And he confirms: "We will urge millions of Iraqis to go out to the squares."
As for the activist Hassan Abdel Karim, he believes that "the movement groups seek to draw more than one scenario in the next stage; toppling the regime is not easy, we lost thousands of victims in the past months, and we must be more careful in the next stage, but we are determined to continue, and we have launched a hashtag (Promise returns the revolution) for this. "
"One of the possible scenarios is that we present our stated demands to the Prime Minister-designate Mustafa Al-Kazemi, in the event of the formation of the government, and we are waiting for what he can do about it," says Abdul Karim.
And Abdul Karim, a graduate student at the Faculty of Administration and Economics at Al-Mustansiriya University, was forced to leave the requirements for obtaining a master’s degree about 6 months ago, and he joined the protest movement. He asserts: "Since that date, I have not seen my family members, and I am still present in Tahrir Square, despite the embargo and the dangers of Corona; I will not give up my dream of a homeland befitting us and a decent life."
And on the details of daily life in Tahrir Square with a curfew imposed, he says: "There are up to a thousand protesters; some tents have a population of more than ten, and some are less than that.
Regarding the fumigation and sterilization operations that they perform for tents and other places in Tahrir Square, Abdel Karim confirms: “We carry out daily fogging campaigns for tents and yard. With personal efforts, we formed a volunteer team that we called (first responders), which includes 3 volunteer doctors and other medical personnel, and this team is doing Great efforts are made to keep tents clean and defective, and all medical supplies are obtained by our own efforts. "
And on the building of the Turkish restaurant in Tahrir Square, which has become one of the most important icons of the Iraqi protests, and it was called Mount Uhud in the first month of the protests, Abdel Karim confirms that it is free from the protesters, and that it was left by the followers of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, who deliberately controlled it at some point. Their latest struggle with the Harak movement last February ended 29/43
