A member of the Parliamentary Work Committee, Amir Al-Mamouri, issued a clarification regarding the reasons for cutting the social welfare salary for non-employees.
Al-Maamouri said in a statement received by Mawazine News, “Suspension of the salary for some beneficiaries is a temporary (precautionary) stop. The reason for this is due to the intersection of information with the Traffic and National Retirement Services, and it turned out that some of the beneficiaries or his wife have a car whose value or model is included in the parting instructions or may be damaged.” He will have a pension for himself or his wife,” indicating that “there may be a mistake in the names and incorrect information, and the right to aid remains reserved for the citizen during the suspension period as entitlements and disbursements to him.”
He added, “The reason for cutting off is against the instructions of the Ministry of Labor because the car is considered a source of work and livelihood, and when the beneficiary owns a private car within the model here, the subsidy stops for him because there are many people who do not have a salary and they are more deserving of the subsidy than others,” noting that “if it is proven On the contrary, after the precautionary cessation of the subsidy and it becomes clear that the person does not have a wheel, the Ministry of Labor must disburse those benefits without one month’s salary being lost.”
He pointed out, "The beneficiary whose salary was stopped because of the car can visit the Welfare Department in his governorate, where the beneficiaries will be provided with letters to the Traffic Department, some of which the department directly addressed to the Traffic Department, and after bringing an answer letter from the Traffic Department confirming that ownership of the car is no longer in the possession of the beneficiary or his wife, a car and then His salary will be released.”
Regarding the models included in the cut, Al-Maamouri explained, “If the beneficiary owns a car within the model currently covered by the Ministry’s instructions and above, the subsidy will be cut off for him because the car is considered a newer model, but if the beneficiary owns a car without a lower model, the subsidy will not be cut off from him because The model of the car is considered old, and there is an evaluation committee from the ministry, a researcher, that decides the value of the material tire, because not everyone who owns a car is well off, in addition to the heavy vehicles and agricultural machinery that are included in the evaluation and research.”
He continued, "These are the procedures of the Ministry of Labor after inquiry, and everyone has the right to appeal to the Supreme Committee headed by a judge for the purpose of proving his right."
