    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Saturday (November 11, 2023), an elderly man appealed to government agencies regarding an increase in his social welfare salary, which is not even enough for the price of his medicine.
A video clip obtained by “Baghdad Today” showed “an elderly Iraqi man appealing to the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, and the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed al-Asadi, regarding increasing social welfare salaries, which are not even enough for the price of his medicine.”
According to the clip, the man adds, “The price of his medicine every month costs him 180,000 dinars, while he receives a care salary of 172,000, through which he is unable to pay for his house rent either.”
He concludes by saying: “Your Excellency the Prime Minister and the Minister of Labor, if you are unable to provide for the needs of the citizens, ‘hit us with a bullet and save him from life.’”
