Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed, on Monday, that Iraq does not need the presence of foreign soldiers from 86 countries under the international coalition, indicating that the American withdrawal does not mean a rupture or an end to the Coordination Framework Agreement at all.
Al-Sudani said in an interview followed by Mawazine News, “The American withdrawal does not mean canceling the strategic framework agreement and then declaring a rift.”
He added, "The negotiations between America and Iraq are taking place militarily without political interference. They are professional and depend on three circumstances, including an assessment of the ISIS threat, operational conditions, and an assessment of the capabilities of the Iraqi forces in confronting the dangers."
He pointed out that "Iraq will work to schedule the American withdrawal after taking into account all these assessments, and then it will work to develop American-Iraqi relations and work in accordance with the strategic framework agreement."
