    The Federal Integrity Commission announced today, Monday, the arrest of the head of the procurement committee in a government laboratory, and the monitoring of overpricing and tampering with the royalty of a property with an area of ​​up to three dunums in Babil Governorate.
    The Government Information and Communications Office said in a statement received by Al-Iqtisad News, “A team composed of staff from the Babylon Investigation Office moved to the Babylon Cement Factory to investigate the existence of an exaggeration in the prices of purchasing electrical poles and “projectors” at exaggerated prices during the year 2022,” indicating “The team - which collected information, investigated local markets, and audited the prices of purchasing materials - concluded that there was an exaggeration in the prices of purchasing 25 electricity poles and 50 projectors.” 
    He pointed out that the exaggeration in prices reached (24,250,000) dinars, noting that “the head of the purchasing committee at the Babel Cement Factory and one of the committee members were arrested.” Based on the evidence presented by the Babylon Investigation Office before the competent investigating judge who issued the arrest warrant in accordance with the provisions of Article 340 of the Penal Code.”
    He continued, “The team, which moved to the governorate’s Directorate of Agriculture, discovered tampering with an agricultural lease contract for the “Bustan” property with an area of ​​(two dunums and 1,700 square meters),” explaining that “the property, which is located in the center of the city of Hilla, had its ownership tampered with in the General Real Estate Registration Directorate in Baghdad by deleting the name of a citizen from the cover of his file, and putting another name in its place.
