    Economy News - Baghdad
The Ministry of Transport / General Company for Airports and Air Navigation Management announced today, Sunday, that Iraqi airspace is open and air traffic is proceeding well, noting that a number of international airlines have resumed their flights to and from Iraq.
The Ministry's media office quoted Abbas Al-Baydani, the company's general manager, as saying in a statement: "The navigation movement is witnessing a noticeable activity with the return of all airlines to Iraqi airspace." He noted that the company has received many requests via email in the past few days from international airlines wishing to join our airspace due to its safety and stability.
The media office indicated that the companies that resumed landing at Baghdad International Airport are: Qatar Airways, which resumed its flights yesterday, in addition to Royal Jordanian, Syrian Airlines (Cham Wings, Arab Wings), Egyptian Airlines, Middle East Airlines, Saudi Adel Airlines, Nas Express, the Russian company Utair, and Air Arabia, which did not stop flying to Baghdad Airport. The airspace is also witnessing flights from Fly Dubai.
The statement added that at Erbil Airport, Turkish Airlines, Sunturk, and Eurowing flights returned to normal, while Basra Airport witnessed the return of Qatar Airways, Fly Dubai, and Turkish Airlines flights.
Regarding air traffic in Iraqi airspace, the ministry stated that Qatar Airways, Air Arabia, Saudi Nas, Cham Wings, Syrian Airlines, Jazeera Airways, and Oman Air continue to cross the airspace regularly. Also, Austrian Airlines (Austrian) has resumed its flights to Erbil Airport, and the Omani Mazyon Company is operating its flights through Iraqi airspace and landing at Baghdad Airport.
The Ministry of Transport confirmed, “We would like to reassure all users of Iraqi airspace that we continue to work to ensure the highest standards of safety and security for air navigation, ensuring the continued smooth and safe flow of air traffic.”
