Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the recent bombings that targeted the mosques in Iraq.

The spokesperson of the Iranian FM, Abbas Iraqachi, stated in a press statement “Iraq is going through a very critical juncture,” noting that “The terrorist groups seek to disrupt order and spread insecurity in the country.” “The explosions aimed to target innocent civilians in religious places such as a mosque, claiming the lives of many people and injuring hundreds of others,” he added, stressing that “These heinous acts are underway to confront tribes and turn political differences into religious ones.”
“There is no doubt that the vigilant Iraqi people and their political wings will stand against the enemies,” he pointed out, assuring that “The Islamic Republic of Iran back the Iraqi government and people and once again voices its support for the Baghdad government in its struggle with terrorists where Iran is ready to help the Iraqi government maintain its security.” “The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that forging unity and solidarity among Iraqi people will be vital in their struggles with terrorist groups,” he concluded.
