[ltr]Gold fell on Friday, with a rise in the dollar after US President Donald Trump has pledged to announce a major tax plan and the release of economic data reinforce expectations of a rate hike in the United States.[/ltr]
[ltr]Gold was down 0.5 percent in online transactions to $ 1223.93 an ounce an ounce by the time 0711 GMT. But yesterday the metal on Wednesday, its highest level since Nov. 11 at $ 1244.67 an ounce.[/ltr]
[ltr]Gold fell in US futures contracts more than one percent to $ 1223.30 an ounce.[/ltr]
[ltr]The White House said on Thursday that Trump is planning to announce more ambitious tax reform plans since the Reagan era in the next few weeks which pushed stock prices and the dollar to rally support hopes to cut corporate taxes.[/ltr]
[ltr]The dollar also found support in the US economic data.[/ltr]
[ltr]And it declined requests for US unemployment benefits unexpectedly last week to the lowest level in nearly 43 years, while inventories climbed wholesalers in December for the second month in a row.[/ltr]
[ltr]The total dollar index 100.600 US currency continued gains in overseas markets rose to their highest level in nine days against the Japanese currency at 113.79 yen.[/ltr]
[ltr]Among other precious metals silver fell 0.4 percent to $ 17.56 an ounce.[/ltr]
[ltr]Platinum fell 1.5 percent to $ 996.50 an ounce, after hitting its highest level since the third of October at $ 1028.50 an ounce in the previous session.[/ltr]
[ltr]Palladium was down one percent to $ 762.30 for the 29 Ooukah.anthy[/ltr]
