The Council of Ministers takes 19 important decisions

In a session that lasted until nine in the evening, the Council of Ministers issued 19 important decisions yesterday, Tuesday, the most prominent of which was approving the selection of the international telecommunications company (Vodafone) as an operator for the national mobile phone license project with fifth generation technology, referring the integrated infrastructure project for the new Sadr City to implementation, amending its decision regarding donations to the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, and allocating (5) billion dinars to establish the (Academy of the Counter-Terrorism Service).
Yesterday, Tuesday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired the 48th regular session of the Council of Ministers, where the Prime Minister blessed the completion of the general population and housing census, as it is a national entitlement that has been delayed for decades, and witnessed delays and obstructions after the year (2003), and the government apparatus was able to implement it, and he explained that the value of the census does not lie only in the statistical aspect and digital data, but rather it is an indicator of the stability of the country, its political system and the awareness of its people, explaining that during the coming days work will be carried out on the population characteristics, and emphasizing the continuation of the census process for Iraqis abroad.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Media Office, a copy of which was received by "Al-Sabah", "the Council of Ministers approved amending its decision regarding the voluntary deduction of (1%) from the salary, allowances, and retirement salary, to be for a period of (6) months only, starting from (1) December (2024), and for those wishing to donate only, in order to support the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples." The Council also voted to amend its decision (24809 of 2024) to provide the Lebanese Republic with (320) thousand tons of wheat instead of flour.
