Gaza appeals to Iraq to solve the problem of electricity
GAZA, May 31 (Reuters) - Palestinian First Deputy Speaker Ahmad Bahar appealed to the Iraqi parliament to immediately intervene to resolve the electricity problem in the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian politician said: "This call comes within the framework of joint Arab action and in accordance with the principles of the Charter of the League of Arab States and in view of the outstanding role played by Arab parliaments, especially at the level of the Palestinian issue.
Bahr pointed to the suffering of the Gaza Strip from the continued power outages of citizens and the economic and social effects resulting from this interruption.
In the same context, Bahr sent a letter to Arab Parliament Speaker Meshaal bin Sahem al-Salami, in which he called on the Arab parliament to "appeal to the heads of Arab parliaments to intervene to solve the electricity problem in Gaza and to immediately provide them with the necessary fuel to operate the only electricity generator."
