Expert: Iraq needs to build a nuclear reactor to solve the problem of electricity and energy

{Local: Al Furat News} Human rights expert Fadel Al-Gharawi confirmed today, Sunday, that Iraq is in dire need to build a nuclear reactor for peaceful purposes to address the problem of electricity and energy after explosive budgets were spent on it without solutions sought by the citizen.
Al-Gharawi added, in a statement received by Al-Furat News, that "nuclear reactors consume relatively small geographical areas of land, and in the generation of peaceful nuclear energy, they need uranium fuel - abundantly available in several countries and characterized by its ease of transportation and extraction - much less than the coal or oil used to generate the same fuel." The amount of energy Nuclear reactors are characterized by their low cost compared to other sources of energy production, in addition to the fact that nuclear reactors leave little waste compared to what other means of generating energy leave.”
He added, "Atomic research reactors are used in the production of radioactive isotopes that are used in medicine, industry, agriculture, chemistry research, physics applications, diagnosis of diseases and treatment of some of them, especially cancerous tumors. Nuclear energy is the generation of electricity and the production of energy used in the desalination of sea water and the running of some types of ships.
Al-Gharawi called on "the Iraqi government to activate the strategic framework agreement with France by investing France's great expertise in building nuclear reactors for peaceful purposes in Iraq to solve problems related to electricity, energy, agriculture and other areas that affect the lives and rights of citizens."
