According to a report of the site "argos Media news", that in the event of the arrival of gas equipment to the maximum rates as well as the holding of Baghdad processing gas, which came into effect last month, which may reach a combined up to 70 million cubic meters per day, the Iranian facilities of gas may make Iraq dispense with the current fuel means used in the operation of its stations such as electric fuel oil and diesel.

Iraq consumes approximately 170 thousand barrels per day of crude oil to run these stations and more than 190 thousand barrels per day, of fuel oil.

Director of International Affairs at the National Iranian Gas Company Bahzad Papazadeh, said in remarks to the media site argos "We have signed a contract to export natural gas to Basra for a period of six years, and will export rates of up to 35 million cubic meters per day."

He added Papazadeh, that according to the terms of this contract, the quantities that Sottaghzha Iran would range between 20 million cubic meters during the colder months to approximately 35 million cubic meters during the same weather conditions warm months when the demand for electric power increases for the operation of air conditioners.

Said Papazadeh "Because we do not want to run into any particular problems during the implementation phase of the contract, we have created a lot everything to avoid it, and we expect to start gas exports to Basra within six months."

It came Papazadeh comments only days from the start of Iran's gas equipment to Baghdad during the past month of June, which delayed much after.

In the meantime, Deputy Iranian Oil Minister Amir Hussein said Zamaninah, said that Iranian gas exports to Baghdad began on June 21, at 7 million cubic per day meter, which will increase gradually to reach the final rate "up to 35 million cubic meters per day."

The 2013 Judge agreement to export Iranian gas to Iraq over six years has set the date originally implemented in mid-2014, but the date of implementation faced several repeated delays because of the difficult security conditions faced by Iraq in a timely manner.

Pointing out that the payment of wages of Iranian gas source to Baghdad, the Iraqi side at a rate of purchaser is going monthly as a letter of credit in favor of the National Iranian Gas Company NIGC.

According to the latest survey questionnaire conducted by the "British Petroleum" company on international energy, Iraq has now become the second largest consumer of Iranian gas after Turkey, which imported about 21 million cubic meters per day of gas by 2016
