Qatar's Defense Minister: We are very patient and this is our condition for starting the dialogue

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is the last pillar of stability in the crisis-ridden Middle East, Qatari Defense Minister Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah said.

"The Gulf Cooperation Council is not limited to the three countries besieged by Qatar (Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain), but includes all its member states. It is the responsibility of the six countries in this Council to save the remainder of this unique entity, Arab world".

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) comprises six countries - Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman - and was established in May 1981 and is chaired by member states.

"The GCC will see changes in its Statute (which is not timed), which should take into account the interrelationship of international relations that require clear definitions in dispute resolution mechanisms and precise definitions of the line between what affects GCC states and what is sovereign of each country," he said.

Al-Attiyah reiterated his country's demand to lift the embargo and not to harm its sovereignty before entering into dialogue with the boycott countries. He added that Doha was "very patient to protect and maintain the GCC entity, while continuing to intervene in the State of Qatar."

Al-Attiyah explained that dialogue is the only way to save the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and that his country confirms that the Emir of Kuwait is the sponsor of any diplomatic dialogue.

"It is difficult to explain the fact that the besieged countries have taken such measures against Qatar in a time when we have witnessed many meetings between the leaders of Qatar and Saudi Arabia," he said. We did not see any tension until after the Riyadh summit (in May). "

"The withdrawal of ambassadors from Doha in 2013 was not because of Qatar's stand in the face of anti-Arab revolutions. The ambassadors were signed shortly after Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad took over the reins of government.

Al-Attiyah pointed out that the only military alliance in which the State of Qatar participates is the "Shield of the Peninsula" forces, pointing out that this alliance does not conflict with strategic partnerships with other countries.

"No country has the right to choose the countries that can deal with it because Qatar is sovereign and does not contradict the principles of the Gulf Cooperation Council," he said.

"Qatar can not be expected to be a victim of a conspiracy that began with pirating the official website of its official agency, and Doha is enough to open up to dialogue and support the mediation of HH the Amir of Kuwait," he said.

Al-Attiyah described the current crisis as "deep" and considered it "difficult to forget its effects on people because of the great decline that I have known."

On June 5, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt severed diplomatic ties with Qatar, and the first three imposed punitive measures, accusing them of "supporting terrorism," which Doha vehemently denied.

On the 22nd of the same month, the four countries submitted a list of 13 demands including the closure of the channel "Al Jazeera", which was rejected by Doha, considering that the demands "unrealistic and unworkable."
