    [ltr]The Pentagon said Russia and China remain the main challenge for the US military.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The First Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Europe and NATO, Thomas Goffos, at a press conference held by the Pentagon in Washington, DC:[/ltr]
    [ltr]We are facing major changes globally. Among the countries that are a major challenge for us are the countries that have chosen to be our strategic rival, for example Russia and China. Other countries are also a challenge for us, but their support for terrorist groups such as Iran, and other non-compliance with non-proliferation agreements such as North Korea, as well as the continued threat posed by the Islamic state and al Qaeda.[/ltr]
