The Chairman of the Federal Integrity Commission, Muhammad Ali Al-Lami, confirmed today, Thursday (November 14, 2024), that corruption negatively affects reconstruction and development and is one of the factors that repel investment.

Al-Lami referred to the "general and detailed rules that the investigator must follow and adhere to the contents of the code of conduct for investigators, urging that the goal of the interrogation should be to reach the truth," stressing that "the Commission has allocated a special email for human rights in the Commission to receive and receive complaints related to the accused."
Al-Lami urged "high coordination and cooperation with the specialized investigative judges under whose supervision the Commission's investigators work, following up on cases and being very careful to resolve them quickly, and intensifying investigative efforts and diligence in obtaining the evidence and presenting it to the judicial authorities; so that they can issue appropriate decisions against the accused."
Al-Lami explained that “the Authority works in accordance with the law and is keen to adhere to its jurisdiction as defined by its effective law No. (30 of 2011) as amended, and not to deviate from it,” noting “some of the risks of corruption and its destructive effects on state institutions and on the level of services provided to citizens, in addition to its negative impact on reconstruction and development operations; considering it one of the factors that repel investment.”
