BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Transport Minister Kazem Al-Yamami announced on Sunday that the US Aviation Administration and the companies accompanying them would fly US civilian aircraft over Iraqi airspace after declaring the final victory over terrorist gangs.
"The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reduced the warning to fly to 26,000 feet after the announcement of victory and the end of military operations in Iraq," al-Hammami said in a press release.
"Reducing the warning will allow US aircraft, US-registered aircraft and other airlines with them to resume flights in Iraqi airspace again," he said.
"The announcement by the US Aviation Administration to resume flights over the Iraqi airspace will be an incentive for the countries of the world and the region to follow suit," Hamami said, noting that "Iraqi airspace is open to international airlines."
It is noteworthy that this step came after the announcement of Prime Minister Dr. Haider Abadi on Saturday the full and final victory over criminal gangs.
